The UPU World Post Day social media kit includes messaging samples and guidelines, social media cards in various formats and languages, branded materials and souvenirs as well as the original files for the production of posters and philately packages. This World Post Day, we celebrate the vital role of the postal sector as a lifeline, bringing essential services to everyone, everywhere. The postal network is among the largest and farthest-reaching service infrastructures in the world. With more than 600,000 post offices, it provides communities everywhere with reliable access to communication, commercial, financial and social services. From the most remote areas to the busiest cities, the postal network is a bridge, connecting people to the wider world. The recently adopted UPU Strategy aligns closely with this year’s theme, “#PostforPeople: Local Service. Under the theme #PostForPeople: Local Service. Global Reach., this year’s campaign highlights the Post as a vital public service rooted in communities and driven by people. The 28th Universal Postal Congress will take place in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from 8 to 19 September 2025. The invitation letter sent to all UPU member countries can be found here . Celebrated each year on October 9th ; The World Post Day  was declared by the 1969 Universal Postal Congress in Tokyo as a means to mark the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union's (UPU) creation in 1874. The Universal Postal Union (upu),1 established at Berne, Switzerland, in 1874, is one of the oldest inter-governmental organizations. Its aim is to promote the organization and improvement of postal services and to further the development of international collaboration in this sphere. It also participates, as far as possible, in postal technical assistance which might be requested by its member States.
